The French chemist Wenmaekers developed the BIAFINE® formula in 1971 for his daughter-in-law, who had incurred burn injuries. She was so impressed by the soothing effect of the emulsion that she decided to introduce the formula to hospital. This is how the product was officially marketed in France with effect from 1976. Since then, the  medicinal product  BIAFINE® Emulsion has been handed on from generation to generation.

The BIAFINE® Emulsion can be used to treat first-degree burns and non-infected skin wounds, and to protect sensitive or slightly irritated skin.
