Shared moments of joy and happiness while taking a step toward a more inclusive world for everyone – that’s what the Special Olympics National Summer Games in St. Gallen were all about.

As a long-standing partner of Special Olympics Switzerland and in alignment with our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to reduce inequalities, we actively support their mission to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people. One way of demonstrating our commitment is through volunteering. More than 80 J&J volunteers were in St. Gallen to support this important sport event, either by helping the teams and their coaches directly as a Delegation Liaison (DL), as a Medal Crew Member (MEC) during the medal ceremonies or as a volunteer at our J&J booth where we provided engaging and interactive games for the athletes. All of them, no matter what kind of activity they were supporting, experienced this rewarding moment and realized what it means to be a true ally.

With our strong focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and our ambition to build a diverse workforce for the future, in addition to volunteering, we see the partnership with Special Olympics and the National Games as a great platform to foster inclusion in a broader sense and with a lasting impact. That's why, together with Special Olympics Switzerland, we organized an inclusive roundtable with other companies and organizations to discuss inclusion in the workplace, our role as a company and how we can work together for a more inclusive society in the future. We certainly hope that this is the start of a wider dialogue for a more inclusive and empathic society!
